THE inaugural Liverpool trip of Britain’s latest mainline steam locomotive Tornado tomorrow has been postponed.
The journey from Liverpool to London and back, hauled by the A1 Peppercorn pacific loco Tornado failed to attract enough passengers. Now The Merseyside Tornado excursion will run on May 24 next year, said organiser Hayden Fortune, whose company HF Railtours planned the event.
Mr Fortune said: “I’m disappointed, but I hope with a longer lead-in time for next May we can fill the train.
“No cheques were cashed and they will all be returned to senders. I hope people can come on the new date.”
