MARITIME greats gathered at the Daily Post last night for the launch of a documentary charting Liverpool’s seafaring heritage.
The Liners of Liverpool, written and presented by Daily Post writer Peter Elson, tells the story of ships in the city from when Cunard started out in 1840.
Mr Elson said: “This story will touch the hearts of everybody in the city – the River Mersey, after all, flows through our veins.”
He was joined at the launch by former QE2 Master Captain Robin Woodall and Bibby Line boss Sir Michael Bibby.
The DVD costs £12.99 from www.merseyshop.com or tel: 0845 143 0001.
