LIVERPOOL’S theatres have been shortlisted for four awards by a top industry body.
The Theatrical Management Association announced the nominees for its Theatre Awards last night.
Actor Jonathan Pryce is shortlisted for the Best Performance in a Play award for his role in The Caretaker at the Everyman.
Michelle Crook’s portrayal of Ado Annie – the girl who just can’t stop kissing boys – in Oklahoma!, which played at the Empire, has also seen her nominated for Best Supporting Performance in a Musical.
The Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse’s co-production with English Touring Theatre of The Hypochondriac is also up for Best Touring Production.
And another Everyman and Playhouse co-production, this time with the Lyric Hammersmith, of Ghost Stories, is shortlisted for Best Lighting Design.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on November 7.
