City leaders declare Liverpool Lime Street station plaza officially open

CITY leaders and regeneration bosses officially declared Lime Street Station’s multi-million pound new station plaza officially open.

Council leader Cllr Joe Anderson was joined by Liverpool Vision chief Max Steinberg and regional Homes and Communities boss Diane Walton to compare the new station front to its former drab state, which included the eyesore of Concourse House.

Cllr Anderson said: “It has been a real partnership effort and I feel Lime Street is again something that the city will be proud of for many years to come.

“It has been a very complex process and I would like to thank users of the station and the local business community for their patience and also for their continued support for the project.

“This is a key gateway to the city and many visitors’ first sight of Liverpool.”
