New Liverpool FC board members appear at Anfield match at start of new era

New LFC directors David Ginsberg & Michael Gordon

THREE key figures at Liverpool Football Club’s new owners, NESV, joined the Anfield faithful to watch the much-needed victory over Blackburn Rovers.

Newly-appointed board executives David Ginsberg and Michael Gordon sat next to co-owner Tom Werner and soon-to-depart chairman Martin Broughton at yesterday’s Premier League match.

Ginsberg, one of NESV's two vice-chairmen, and Gordon, who is an investor in the Boston group, were appointed as LFC directors by the new co-owners over the weekend.

Mike Lee, spokesman for NESV, said: “They enjoyed it a lot. Everyone was delighted. It was special listening to Gerry Marsden singing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’.

“There was a very good team performance and three points which was the most important thing of all. It was a very good day and an important result. All the guys from NESV were delighted for Roy and it was a well-deserved win.”

It is understood Ginsberg and Gordon were staying in the city at the Hope Street Hotel until today.

It was the first home game in charge for the new owners but chief owner John W Henry did not attend “due to illness”.
