Doctor who live 300
A MERSEYSIDE musician is fulfilling his childhood dream by conducting melodies for wandering timelord Doctor Who.
Ben Foster, 32, has been working as an orchestrator and conductor on the BBC’s long-running sci-fi series for five years, and now the show is going live across the country, including a stop at the Echo Arena.
Ben, who is originally from Formby, is the conductor for the touring stage show, which is based upon the award-winning TV programme and features live music, special effects and appearances from the show’s most popular monsters.
Ben told the Daily Post: “It’s amazing to be a part of the show.
“As a kid, I used to pretend to be the Doctor, playing out scenes with my brother and now I get to combine my love of Dr Who and music together as my job – it’s brilliant.”
Doctor Who Live will also have optical illusions and spectacular pyrotechnics building to an epic finale.
Specially edited video clips from the TV programme will also be shown on a massive screen.
But audiences should also expect the unexpected as the Doctor’s arch-enemies the Daleks are joined by some of the best-loved and most terrifying monsters from the TV series including the Cybermen, Weeping Angels, Judoon and the Ood.
