SUPPORT has been flooding in for Liverpool’s bid to use the Pier Head as a base for cruise liners to start and finish their journeys.
Following an unsuccessful attempt by Liverpool City Council last year, a fresh bid was been made last week to the Government for permission to build Customs and luggage facilities there.
In just two days, more than 350 people have signed the Get on Board petition in support of the plans.
Philip Johnson, from Liverpool, wrote: “Liverpool is a city with a strong maritime history. It is a highly popular port of call for cruises with lots to offer.”
Alwyn Maynard, from Liverpool, commented: “Liverpool is resurgent; the lifeblood of this city will begin flowing again with help from liner traffic. It’s right for the city, it looks right for the city and it belongs in the city.”
