Terence Davies film 'Of Time and the City
A NEW historical website is calling for Liverpool people to log on and recount their memories of life in the city.
People’s Stories: Liverpool Lives was officially launched yesterday.
The site is the brainchild of Liverpool-based Hurricane Films, who came up with the idea after the response to director Terence Davies’s 2008 film Of Time and the City.
Now film chiefs hope it will become a “central hub” for Liverpool’s social history.
Hurricane Films director Sol Papadopoulos said: “We had Liverpudlians from all over the world wanting to tell their story, inspired by the way Terence had told his.
“So we’ve created a kind of archival Facebook where people can upload and share stories, pictures and films.
“We’ve only just launched it, but already we have collected some fantastic stories.
“And we did a poll that shows people are keen to get involved at all levels. It’s interesting many don’t know how, so we’re really hoping People’s Stories will change that, certainly in Liverpool.”
