A UNIVERSITY official turned his hand to poetry to help his recovery from a quintuple cardiac bypass operation.
And the resulting poems from Roy Bayfield, who works at Ormskirk’s Edge Hill University, have been published in the book, Bypass Pilgrim.
Mr Bayfield, 48, from Ormskirk, the university’s director of corporate communications and student recruitment, said: “Writing was an important part of my recovery.
“Having bypass surgery is a major life event and there’s a lot to process – getting it down on paper really helps.
“I would recommend this to anyone, even if what gets written goes on the fire or away in a drawer.”
The book is available at Amazon and other online outlets.
