THE man behind Phoenix Nights threw the floor open to questions from fans after a screening of his gangland film.
Neil Fitzmaurice, who co-wrote and co-starred in the hit series with funnyman Peter Kay, attended the showing of Going Off Big Time.
It was the latest event at Liverpool’s FACT centre to raise cash for the Clapperboard Youth Project.
Writer Neil was last night joined by his brother, Tony, who produced the 1999 Liverpool-made film.
He said: “It was a great honour to have Going Off Big Time shown at the Clapperboard Presents evening. As local film-makers both myself and Tony are very proud of this city and the work that Clapperboard does for the young people of Merseyside.”
The film tells the story of gangster Mark Clayton, who after a gangland shooting is hiding out in the home of his solicitor and reminisces about his life as a criminal.
