Wirral sixth form students organise peaceful protest outside Conservative Party office

HUNDREDS of sixth form students demonstrated in Merseyside yesterday to show their opposition to the government's plans to treble tuition fees.

Up to 400 Wirral sixth form students marched on the Conservative Party’s office on Seaview Road in Wallasey to display their solidarity with the official National Union of Students protest in London, and opposition to the government’s plans to increase university tuition fees and cut university funding.

Students from St Mary’s Roman Catholic College, Birkenhead Sixth Form College, Weatherhead High School, Wallasey School and Wirral Metropolitan College led the unofficial peaceful protests which were monitored by Merseyside Police.

The A-Level students assembled in Wallasey village and then began marching to Seaview Road.
