IT WAS the inner sanctum where some of Liverpool’s FC most famous victories were masterminded.

Now the famous Anfield Boot Room has given its name to the club’s first official restaurant.

The Boot Room, at Anfield stadium, offers hungry fans a chance to eat in the heart of their club – and enjoy a drink named after their favourite players.

On the wall, televisions play classic Liverpool moments from down the years, while younger diners have the chance to make up their own pizzas before they are put in the oven and served up.

The restaurant is named after LFC’s famous Boot Room, a space that the great Bill Shankly converted into the place where coaching staff would sit and talk tactics, exchange views and discuss the club’s footballing method.

Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan and Kenny Dalglish continued the tradition, which has become synonymous with the Reds’ most successful era, when they dominated domestic and European football.

As well as the normal tables on the restaurant floor are booths, where the cosy atmosphere of the original Boot Room can be recreated as pals gather to discuss and dissect the on-field goings on.
