POLICE investigating an arson attack at a sea cadet building in Merseyside also found racist graffiti on its walls.
Officers were called to the fire, in Park Road East, Birkenhead, on Sunday at 6.15pm, and are now looking into the graffiti link.
Sgt Ian Wiggins, from Merseyside Police’s Sigma Unit, said: “We are investigating a possible connection between the person who wrote the graffiti and the person who deliberately started the fire.
“We take racial abuse very seriously and have dedicated units to investigate such crimes, which will not be tolerated in Merseyside.”
