Colourful ceremony at Liverpool Cathedral for human rights charity

INTERNATIONAL human rights organisation Rights and Humanity held a colourful ceremony at Liverpool’s Anglican cathedral, to celebrate establishing a base at the city.

The new International Centre of Excellence in Human Rights and Responsibilities is based at the Liver Building, at the Pier Head.

The move was made possible with a grant from the Northwest Regional Development Agency.

The event at the cathedral brought together political, business, and faith leaders.

The celebration centred around the signing of Rights and Humanity’s Principles of Responsibility, to reaffirm the commitment of the people of Liverpool to human rights.

Music and entertainment was provided by The Quartet of Peace, from South Africa, along with local acts including Sense of Sound and a children’s choir.

Rights and Humanity has helped millions of poor and disadvantaged people across the world, and will be working in deprived areas of the city.
