A CONVICTED sex offender was put back behind bars for 15 years for repeatedly raping a girl in the 1990s, while he stood as a councillor.
Kevin Ratcliffe's victim only came forward after she learned he had been jailed for two sex offences in the Kirkby area in 2008.
She told jurors at Liverpool Crown Court how Ratcliffe, 58, repeatedly molested her from the age of seven.
The woman relived how Ratcliffe, who it is understood was then standing as a councillor, forced her to perform obscene sex acts before going on to rape her four times.
Radcliffe, now of Bank Square, Southport, denied four offences of rape, four charges of indecent assault and four further counts of indecency with a child. But jurors convicted him on all 12 counts. Judge Clifton ordered Ratcliffe to sign the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely.
