A HEARTFELT tribute was paid by the family of a student mown down by a stolen car while he was on a night out in Liverpool.
Andrew O’Neill, 20, had been a student at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) for just over a month when he was killed in the early hours of Saturday.
The second-year building surveying student, nicknamed “Chubby”, had transferred from the University of Ulster in his native Northern Ireland. He was hit and killed by a stolen Audi Q5 racing away from police and travelling the wrong direction up one-way Dale Street.
Andrew leaves behind mother Ann, father Brendan, and younger brother Michael.
In a moving tribute last night, they said: “Andrew was a fantastic young man, who will be missed by his friends, his family and everyone who knew him.
“He was the life and soul of the party, made friends easily with people from all walks of life and was very popular. He had only been in Liverpool a few months, but had already made a lot of really good friends.
