Festive treats across Merseyside as Christmas arrives at Hope Street and Port Sunlight

FESTIVE treats delighted visitors across Merseyside at two special food fayres.

Blackburne House hosted a variety of entertainment at the Hope Street Christmas Fayre.

Visitors were treated to an outdoor food market as well as an indoor craft event on Sunday.

Choirs performed on stage including Hope Street Harmonies, Liverpool Community Choir and Singing hands, which is a signing choir for the deaf. There were also performances from the Unity and Everyman theatre Christmas shows.

The Hope Street Christmas lights were switched on by pop group and X Factor hopefuls Estrella. A grotto raised money for Clatterbridge and there were donkey rides for children.

Wirral’s historic village Port Sunlight also held its first food fayre over the weekend.

The three-day event marked the end of the Wirral’s Year of Food and included a guest appearance from Clare Lara, who won BBC Master Chef: The Professionals.
