Harry Potter tours of the Queensway tunnel

FANS of Harry Potter will have a rare chance to see one of the key locations where the new blockbuster movie was shot – in the Queensway tunnel.

Film crews descended on the site last year to film the chase scenes involving Harry and Hagrid for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. The Birkenhead tunnel doubled as the Dartford tunnel in the scenes.

Now Merseytravel has organised a behind-the-scenes tour of the Queensway tunnel for one night only, while it is closed for maintenance.

As well as being able to walk out on to the roadway where the scenes were shot, visitors will be able to get a glimpse of the workings of the two-mile tunnel, through which 35,000 vehicles travel per day.

A strictly limited number of places are available for the tour on Friday, December 10. Cost per person is £5 and must be booked in advance. The tour start time is 6.30pm and will last around two hours. To book your space, please call 0151 330 4504.
