LAST night, an upbeat Calday chair of governors, Margaret Twemlow, described the report as “helpful”.
She told the Daily Post: “The governors have found it helpful to have a thorough evaluation of the school in the current circumstances. We feel a ‘good with outstanding features’ judgment accurately reflects the school at present. We can now continue to move on with confidence and develop further in light of this report.”
But a spokesman for Concerned Calday Parents Group said: “The loss of outstanding status means it is the only grammar school in the borough without this grade. Ofsted has validated our concerns over governance.”
