VISITORS to the Merseyside Maritime Museum will be warned that buying fake goods this Christmas could lead to tragedy.
The Albert Dock institution opened an exhibition yesterday displaying the dangers of buying presents from unlicensed manufacturers, who cost the Government £550m every year.
Parents need to take particular caution in buying videogame equipment for their children. A child was killed in 2007 when he was electrocuted by a fake charger, and in 2008 police intercepted thousands of fake Nintendo DS consoles from China.
