Sir Paul McCartney
SIR Paul McCartney’s Christmas homecoming gig sold out in a record-breaking four minutes.
The rush to buy tickets for the show at Liverpool’s O2 Academy reached unprecedented levels at 10am yesterday.
Consequently, the concert became the fastest ever selling gig in Liverpool music history.
It was also believed to be the quickest sale in O2 Academy history.
Only 1,200 tickets were available for the concert on Monday, December 20.
But the sprint for a ticket to see the former Beatle left thousands of music fans ultimately disappointed.
Some questioned the sale process and said they were unable to locate an internet page where the cheapest tickets – around £50 – were being sold.
Instead, the Paul McCartney Hot Band Package, priced at £411.25 for a ticket, tour merchandise item and collectible laminate, were on offer after the general allocation had apparently sold out.
