A SERVICE of remembrance for children is to be held tonight at Liverpool Cathedral.
The service is organised by volunteers and staff from the Alder Centre, at Alder Hey Hospital, which offers support to anyone affected by the death of a child.
During the service, children’s names will be read out and candles lit in memory of them.
John Lippitt, Volunteer Coordinator at the Alder Centre, said: “The build-up to Christmas can be a particularly difficult time for many families who have lost a child.”
The service starts at 7.30pm.
Families who would like a child’s name to be included in the service should arrive early to register.
