LDP Legal: Liverpool’s DLA Piper office advises on £82m investment

THE Liverpool office of DLA Piper advised an investment company during an £82m deal to buy a shopping centre.

The Duke of Westminster’s company Grosvenor, which owns Liverpool One, sold the Dolphin Shopping Centre, in Poole, to Dutch real estate investment company Wereldhave.

The 530,000 sq ft centre was built in 1969 and refurbished by Grosvenor in 2004.

DLA’s real estate and corporate teams acted for Wereldhave in the deal, which is their latest acquisition in a strategy to focus their UK operations on shopping centres.

Liverpool-based DLA partner Mark Beardwood said: “This is a significant deal for Wereldhave in relation to their investment strategy.

“Wereldhave is one of a number of blue-chip investment clients we advise, and we particularly enjoyed working with them on this strategic acquisition, topping off another busy year in the investment property market.”
