THREE postal staff have been arrested on suspicion of stealing mail.
Police were called to the Warrington Mail Centre before Christmas after management’s suspicions were alerted.
Officers arrived and apprehended three men, all 22, taking them for questioning at police stations on December 16.
Two of the suspects, from Cheetham Hill, in Manchester, were released without charge by detectives.
The third was given bail until March.
The Royal Mail said the matter came to light following their own investigation into disappearing mail.
A spokeswoman refused to confirm how much had been stolen or if it was a one-off incident.
A statement said: “After a Royal Mail security investigation, an employee at Warrington Mail Centre has been bailed by police pending further inquiries.
