Liverpool Council providing ‘fair’ housing service says Audit Commission

HOUSING services in Liverpool are “fair”, with promising signs of improvement, according to a watchdog.

The Audit Commission awarded the council one star out of three. Inspectors said housing was a priority, and the council was making progress in improving the choice available to people.

But they said more needed to be done to improve private housing. Council leader Joe Anderson said: “I am pleased this report recognises our work.

“We are determined to tackle the many decades of under-investment in housing.”
