TODAY'S tables also show Wirral pupils are celebrating record GCSE results.
Government statistics show that the percentage of Wirral pupils in 2010 managing five Cs or above including English and maths rose from 53.8% to 58.7% – well above the 53.4% national average.
And the percentage of GCSE pupils securing five Cs or above in any subject has also enjoyed an annual increase – shooting up from 73.3% to 79.9%, again above the national average of 75.4%.
Its English baccalaureate pass rate was 22.1%.
