Charles aide quits

THE Prince of Wales’s most trusted adviser, Sir Michael Peat, is to step down from his post, Clarence House has announced.

The former chartered accountant, who has been Charles’s aide for nine years, is to return to the private sector.

During his time with the Prince, Sir Michael, 61, helped organise the heir to the throne’s wedding to the Duchess of Cornwall in 2005.
