DWF was named NationalLaw Firm of the Year at an industry awards ceremony.
It collected the gong at the Legal Business Awards 2011.
The firm, which has offices in St Paul’s Square, in Liverpool, said strong management, improved financial performance and increased market share across the firm’s major practice areas led it to taking the title.
DWF managing partner Andrew Leaitherland added: “The award is recognition of our values in action. It reflects our continuing period of rapid growth, key client acquisitions and a string of impressive lateral hires.
“I truly believe we have exceptional people who work tremendously hard to deliver the highest quality service to our clients.”
Mr Leaitherland said the firm’s strategy was to break into the Legal top 30 in just over a year. DWF is ranked 42nd by turnover, which has risen by 111% from £33.9m to £71.5m in the last five years.
