Thousands of men and women in wedding dresses to run Liverpool race

THOUSANDS of men and women will run a 5k race in Liverpool– wearing wedding dresses.

The world record attempt has been organised by the North West Healthy Living Network Project.

The event, called the Big Big Day, will see a series of 5K walks being held across the region. To launch the race, men and women took to the streets of Liverpool on a wedding march.

Gillian Halliwell, from the project, said: “We want to create a fun way for the people of the North West to become healthier.

“The 5k walks are for people of any age or health background and will be a fun day for the whole family. People don't need to wear a full wedding dress – just follow the theme.”

The real event is being held on June 25 where there will be five walks at the same time across the North West. In Liverpool the event will take place at Croxteth Park and will include live music, local DJs, competitions and beauty treatments.
