US INVESTMENT company Club 9 Sports says its business is in advising, investing and operating in the sports entertainment and media industries.

The company is a joint venture between Tobacco Road Capitalists – a sports management and sports media advice company in North Carolina – and Prometheus Capital Partners, a middle market merchant bank in Chicago.

Club 9 Sports is headed by Jon Pritchett, of Tobacco Road, and John Prutch, of Prometheus.

The company is able to make direct investments through Prometheus Capital Partners or provide management services to client clubs and oragisations.

The company website says it is able to “focus on underperforming and undervalued operations that can be improved by a hands-on approach.

“The same financial expertise... is available to third parties through our advisory services.” Clients and assignments in the professional field in the USA include National Basketball Association (NBA) teams Charlotte Bobcats, Charlotte Hornets, Denver Nuggets, New Orleans Hornets and the Los Angeles Clippers together with National Hockey League club Boston Bruins.
