Sir Anthony Hopkins to premiere his music in UK
MUSIC written by Oscar-winning actor Sir Anthony Hopkins is to be performed in the UK for the first time.
While famed as one of the finest screen performers of his generation, through films such as Silence Of The Lambs, the 73-year-old star is perhaps less well-known for being an accomplished composer. This summer will see Sir Anthony at a series of concerts including a performance in his Welsh homeland at St David’s Hall in Cardiff.
In the concerts, Sir Anthony presents the UK premiere of several of his original scores – including music from his own movies August and Slipstream, plus a brand new piece written for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO).
He said: “I am immensely happy to be working with the CBSO to bring my compositions to the UK for the first time.”
