Denise Fergus, mother of murdered toddler James Bulger, will run 5k as part of an even to mark what would have been his 21st birthday.

THE mother of murdered toddler James Bulger has revealed she is in training for a fundraising run to mark what would have been her son’s 21st birthday.

Denise Fergus visited Everton FC’s Finch Farm training ground, where manager David Moyes gave her some tips for the March 20 5k run in the grounds of Knowsley Hall.

Around 500 are due to take part in the event, which will raise money for the James Bulger Memorial Trust.

The cash will provide holidays for young victims of crime or bullying and will make awards to children who display exemplary good behaviour or make a positive contribution to society.

Denise, 42, said: “I want to see good things done in James's name.

“All too often, it is the kids who are badly behaved that get all the attention.

“We plan to support children who are victims of bullying or crime, and their families.

“And we also aim to reward children for good behaviour.”
