NEW foreign arrivals in Liverpool will be given welcome packs providing information and advice about living and working in the city.
The packs will make sure international students and migrant workers are aware of their rights and responsibilities and help them fit in.
The move follows the key recommendation of a study of migrant workers in the city by Salford University.
Their report said: “One concern is people are not always getting full and accurate information, and rely on family, friends and acquaintances.”
The cost of the packs was met by Migration Impact Fund, a government initiative, so will not cost the council anything.
Printed versions will be available in French, Polish, Russian and Slovakian and download versions in 11 other languages.
