A CITY businessman launched a high-wire act to raise money for cancer carers.
Property magnate George Downing unveiled the Liverpool Big Zip yesterday from the iconic Port of Liverpool building, where daredevils will take part in a 160m high-wire slide to the Pier Head on Sunday, May 22.
Mr Downing, who owns the Port of Liverpool building, said: “Marie Curie Cancer Care is a charity which is close to my heart. The charity’s Woolton Hospice helps patients every year.
“I am proud to support this fantastic fundraising event in the heart of Liverpool.
“You will need to have a special kind of courage to zip at this event, but by doing so you will be helping a truly worthy cause – so please register to take part and join hundreds of other people for the adrenaline rush of a lifetime.”
Money raised from this event will be used to support the Marie Curie Hospice in Woolton.
