THE premiere of a BBC drama filmed in Liverpool was held in the city last night.
More than 400 people packed into the Daily Post and Echo building to watch the premiere of Justice, an afternoon drama series which is due to be screened from next Monday.
Among the guests were Liverpool actress Gillian Kearney who plays the role of an enthusiastic local reporter.
Her performances were filmed at the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo’s offices in Old Hall Street.
Gillian said: “It’s very important that it was set in Liverpool – it’s my home city.
“I enjoyed working in the newsroom office when we were acting.
“The building was the right setting for the premiere. It’s wonderful.
“It was good to be part of and I loved it.
“Everyone had a great time during the filming and it was very well researched.
“I play the role of a local journalist who is very ambitious and cares passionately about the community.”
Guests at the screening were entertained with an episode showing ex-Merseyside champion boxer John Conteh, who played the role of former fighter Leonard Hancock who had fallen on hard times.
