Museum supports childrens’ charity with 40,000 rubber ducks
FORTY thousand rubber ducks went on display throughout World Museum Liverpool.
The ducks – enough to stand as tall as the Radio City tower 14 times over – went on display to help raise sponsorship for the annual Duck Race held in aid of Claire House childrens’ hospice.
Charity partner National Museums Liverpool is hoping to boost fundraising by encouraging visitors to sponsor a duck.
Claire House Merseyside area manager Helen Carlson said: “This year we have set ourselves the highest ever fundraising target for this annual event of £100,000.”
Steve Judd, director of World Museum, said: “It was quite a challenge putting 40,000 plastic ducks on display, but we’ve managed it and they look fabulous.”
