TWO of Liverpool’s museums have been shortlisted for prestigious national accolades.
World Museum Liverpool has been selected for the Museums and Heritage Awards’ Temporary or Touring Exhibition category for its show, Plantastic!
The Merseyside Maritime Museum is one of six venues going head-to-head for the Classic Award.
A spokesman for National Museums Liverpool, which runs both attractions, said: “We are thrilled to be shortlisted for these awards which are like the Oscars of the museum sector.
“The Merseyside Maritime Museum goes from strength to strength and is now welcoming more than one million visitors each year.
“Plantastic! looked at the wonder of plants and was a big hit with visitors young and old. In total, it attracted more than 310,000 visitors.”
