Bankruptcy hearing against former Everton FC star Paul Gascoigne adjourned

Paul Gascoigne

BANKRUPTCY moves against former Everton FC star Paul Gascoigne have been put on hold again until next month.

Gascoigne, 43, who owes the taxman £32,000, is fighting a bankruptcy petition brought by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.

At a brief hearing at the High Court in London yesterday, Deputy District Judge Holmes-Milner adjourned the petition until May 25.

At a previous hearing, the court heard a proposal was put forward by Gascoigne which would allow him to pay off the full debt to HMRC within a structured timescale.

The adjournment was granted while that proposal is being dealt with at Bournemouth County Court.
