HUNDREDS of people gathered to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the restoration of Sefton Park’s iconic Palm House.
Volunteers and trustees were among those invited to a special event held by the preservation trust to celebrate the 10th year since the reopening of the famous landmark.
The celebration was just the first of a series of events this year to mark the anniversary of the £3.5m restoration, after nearly a decade of campaigning.
Sefton Park Palm House down the ages
Trust director Elizabeth-Anne Williams said it was a good time to evaluate the progress made while looking to the future.
She said: “It is great to bring together people who have supported the Palm House and helped us achieve what we have in the last 10 years.
“We have worked with more than 120 groups to put on 500 events in that period. Now we want to look forward to developing our links to the community and making sure we have a sustainable future in difficult economic times.”
