A CITY university has pledged exams will not be disrupted if staff follow through a threat of strike action.
Around 70 academic and administrative jobs are set to go at Liverpool’s Hope university, as it attempts to slash annual costs by £6m. The University and College Union has criticised the proposed redundancies, believing it should wait until its financial future becomes clearer before any reorganisation.
The union has confirmed strike action “that could disrupt students’ exams was being seriously considered”.
A university spokesman added: “The university will have contingency plans in place to ensure that examinations do take place.”
