FIVE people quizzed over the hotel murder of a man remained in police custody this morning.
Thomas James Thompson, from Fairfield, was discovered with head injuries in a room at the Manor Hotel, in Edge Lane, on Sunday.
Three women and two men were detained following raids in North Wales yesterday.
They were still being questioned today as detectives issued a fresh appeal for a taxi driver believed to have vital information about the killing.
Mr Thompson, 29, checked into the hotel on Saturday alone, after meeting friends at the Red House pub, in Old Swan, the previous night.
A woman, 25, and a man, 29, were arrested on suspicion of Mr Thompson’s murder. Three other people, a 50-year-old woman, a 31-year-old woman and a man, 21, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
