Cllr Ian Lewis insisted the leaflet was wrong and said: “Cllr Dodd has been caught red-handed. This is not just councillors having a row about a difference of opinion. This is about a councillor, who is subject to a Code of Conduct, fabricating a story in order to gain votes.
“The irony is that Cllr Dodd voted against the help for Liscard that was in the Conservative/Lib-Dem budget. Is Labour so lacking in any kind of plan for Wirral, or so ashamed of their record locally, that they are forced to make up stories about their opponents?Š
“Cllr Dodd has been told several times, in public, about the real help that is finally coming to Liscard yet he persists in peddling this story.
“I gave him every opportunity in council to retract his remarks, but he chose not to do so.ŠI am therefore seeking the advice of Hill Dickinson as to what action can be taken to prevent the voters of Liscard being deceived any further.”Š
