MERSEYSIDERS relived the end of the war years with mock celebrations at Woodside ferry terminal.
A street party atmosphere was experienced as re-enactors in period clothing danced to music at the Birkenhead location.
The public got to view military vehicles and vintage stalls and listen to wartime stories.
Organised in conjunction with the High Commission of Canada, a photographic exhibition showcased 80 years of Arctic photos from the pages of Canadian Geographic.
It featured more than 30 photographs.
A Merseytravel spokesman said: “The Royal Canadian Geographical Society’s magazine, Canadian Geographic, has featured stories on the Arctic since its first volume in 1930. This abiding interest has brought readers fascinating accounts of a region that remains, for most, distant and remote.”
