LIB-DEM leader Cllr Flo Clucas described events leading up to the resignation of Cllr Bradley as “a personal tragedy”, but insisted the focus was on the elections.
Cllr Bradley’s decision to quit came amid allegations that his 18-year-old son Daniel’s signature had been “faked” on nomination papers to stand in the Central ward. Merseyside Police are to receive a formal complaint from council chief executive Ged Fitzgerald in the coming days. Cllr Clucas said: “As a magistrate, I can’t comment on individual cases.
“For me it’s a personal tragedy for the family concerned, and that’s the way this needs to be viewed.
“When a father and son disagree, that of itself is something no family would wish to see.
“Warren is no longer a member of the group, I suspended him formally, and now he needs to deal with his situation and we ours.”
