THE Prince of Wales has paid tribute to a once “controversial” cancer care charity as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations.
Charles, who is patron of Penny Brohn Cancer Care, hosted a reception for supporters of the charity at the Orchard Room of Highgrove House, in Tetbury, Gloucestershire.
As well as supporters of cancer sufferer Penny Brohn and charity trustees, famous faces such as Maureen Lipman and Anthony Head also attended the lunch yesterday.
Penny Brohn Cancer Care started in 1980, when it was known as the Bristol Cancer Help Centre.
It was founded by Mrs Brohn, who was living with cancer at the time, and her friend, Pat Pilkington.
