Liverpool welcomes return of Crown Princess as cruise ship season begins

THE largest of the Princess ships will be visiting Liverpool tomorrow to mark the start of the cruise ship season.

The Crown Princess, which holds an impressive 3,114 passengers, will dock at the Liverpool Cruise Terminal.

The ship boasts an impressive 900 balconies, nine bars, a casino and cinema.

From May until September 17 there will be 15 different vessels stopping at the Liverpool terminal.

And for the first time the new luxury ocean liner, the Queen Elizabeth, will sail into the city.

Elisa Sullivan, who is the Cruise Coordinator for the Cruise Liner terminal, said: “Having the ships here is great for the city.

“The perception of Liverpool is still quite negative from the perspectives of people from abroad.

“We hope that we can change this when the tourists come to visit.”

The company was set up in 2007 but it is already doing as well as bigger cities, such as Dublin.

Next year, there will be 16 ships stopping at the terminal.
