LIVERPOOL has sold itself on the tourist circuit as the world in one city – but its latest souvenir is to be the city on one world.
A new map of the city is wrapped round a complete globe, as the must-have memento of a Mersey visit.
It is the brainchild of former chartered accountant David Sinclair, whose Globee has swept round the world in little more than a year.
Now Liverpool has been added to a top-ranking list of world tourist city destinations with their own Globees .
Mr Sinclair, from Kent, added: “We first decided to go for the big four international tourist cities to begin with: London, New York, Paris and Rome.
“The idea worked so then we moved on to the major tourist cities of Britain – Oxford, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Bath and Liverpool.”
So far, everything has worked almost beyond the inventor’s dreams. On Merseyside, the Globee has been taken up by all the main tourist shops and the National Museums Liverpool, while internationally it has already taken him round the world in little more than a year since the product was launched.
