TV FAVOURITES Wallace and Gromit put a smile on children’s faces during a visit to Alder Hey hospital.
They met young patients and hospital staff and encouraged people to be superstars for Wrong Trousers Day 2011.
Wallace swapped his normal trousers for a “cracking” giant star-covered pair.
The popular animated characters invited people to shine brightly by paying a pound to step out in vibrant legwear on June 24.
Charity organisers are expecting thousands of people across Britain to join in the fun and wear “wear trousers” in aid of their local children’s hospital or hospice.
The money will help more than 50 hospitals, including Alder Hey.
Marie Storey, head of fundraising at Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Foundation, said: “This event is a great way for people to get together with friends, family and work colleagues and do the right thing for charity by wearing something wrong.”
