LIVERPOOL doctors won a European award for designing a resuscitation trolley which could save the lives of vulnerable babies.
Consultant obstetrician at Liverpool Women’s hospital Andrew Weeks led the team which produced the bedside trolley– a small portable version of a large resuscitation unit.
It can be used even during a Caesarean.
The accolade was given to the team at the Medical Futures Innovation Awards.
Dr Weeks said: “With it, we can delay cord clamping and resuscitate the baby.ŠThis should give added support to new-borns.”
