THREE former Wimbledon ladies champions came together at the Liverpool International Tennis tournament.
Martina Hingis, Martina Navratilova and Silver Jubilee year winner Virginia Wade posed together in Calderstones Park.
The Calderstones event is in its 10th year and features a men’s and women’s main event, as well as one for veterans and some exhibitions.
Nine-times Grand Slam winner Hingis – known as the “Swiss Miss” – took the honours in the women’s event while former world number five Fernando Gonzalez, from Chile, was the victor in the men’s event.
On Sunday, it was the turn of the legends to light up the courts with a series of sparkling exhibitions.
The two Martinas played a singles match, followed by a doubles exhibition featuring Mikael Pernfors, former British number one Greg Rusedski, Ormskirk’s Barry Cowan and Mansour Bahrami, whose comic court routines have become the stuff of legend.
